The Brain from Planet Arous (1957)

Gor, a giant evil brain from Planet Arous wants to be master of the universe and in order to do so, takes possession of a human. Things are not so easy for Gor, since the possessed human and his girlfriend will be aided by Vol, the friendly brain next door kind of. Together they will stop at nothing to destroy Gor's evil plan! There are some pretty inventive and surprising shots in this movie, so kudos for the director, Mr. Nathan Juran. The rhythm is quite appealing and satisfying. A very comfy oldie sci-fi flick. Just as a liner note, the poster's artwork is amazing as usual in these kind of films.

Nightbeast (1982)

Directed by Don Dohler who is responsible for cinematic treats like Fiend and The Alien Factor, Nightbeast is an enjoyable creature feature with an 80s synth based score and a monster that looks like an orangotan possessed by demons and a mouth that looks like a sandworm. His most striking feature is a dazzling silver spaceman suit that looks like it was stolen from David Bowie's wardrobe circa Ziggy Stardust. Even though he can kill people with a zap gun, he prefers a hands-on approach by mauling, decapitating and desembowling people. An enjoyable horror gem from the 80s.
